Forest Light is a semi-annual, bilateral exercise between the III Marine Expeditionary Force and the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force and consists a command post exercise as well as field training events.
The second iteration of the bilateral exercise known as Forest Light will begin Feb. 4. During the exercise, U.S Marine forces will join the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force for approximately two weeks of training.
