USS Germantown wins 2014 VADM Bulkeley Safety AwardUSS Germantown was awarded the 2014 Vice Adm. Bulkeley Safety Award May 27, 2015. This Chief of Naval Operations award recognizes ships who contributed the most toward afloat safety awareness through the submission of hazard, near-mishap, lessons-learned reports and safety-related articles for publication demonstrating a culture of safety awareness.


USNS Mercy arrives in Arawa for Pacific Partnership
The hospital ship USNS Mercy ship (T-AH 19) arrived in Arawa, the Autonomous Region of Bougainville, Papua New Guinea, today for its second mission stop of Pacific Partnership 2015.

NAS Whidbey Island supports Make-A-Wish FoundationElectronic Attack Squadron (VR) 138, the “Yellowjackets,” along with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, helped to make a young boy’s dream come true by giving him a hands-on experience inside of an EA-18G Growler along with his own flight suit and helmet at Naval Air Station (NAS) Whidbey Island during an open house and Prowler Sunset, commemorating the retirement of the EA-6B Prowler June 27.
