Maritime Preposition Ships Squadron THREE joins typhoon relief in SaipanA small fleet of ships with Maritime Prepositioning Ships Squadron (MPSRON) THREE recently played a different role assisting the people of Saipan recover from the destruction of Typhoon Soudelor, a Category 2 typhoon that devastated the island on Aug. 2.

SPAWAR Reserve Unit 406 Sailor receives NDIA 'Twice A Citizen Award'Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) Reserve Unit 406 Chief Petty Officer YNC Diana Anderson was selected as one of four winners of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) 2015 "Twice a Citizen" Award. Each awardee received a check for $1,500. The check and the award certificate were presented at the Navy Gold Coast NDIA awards luncheon Aug. 26 in San Diego.

Exercise prepares Stockdale combat teamBehind heavy, closed doors and bathed in dim, blue light is one of the busiest rooms aboard USS Stockdale (DDG 106). The Combat Information Center (CIC) bustles with subdued activity, lowered voices and watchstanders deep in concentration. They monitor air, surface and subsurface contacts on consoles around the room and communicate with other ships in the strike group 24 hours a day.
