Cameramen and reporters from Iraqi media outlets set up their equipment to film a ceremony in which U.S. forces formally handed control of Contingency Operating Site Echo in Diwaniyah, Iraq to the Iraqi army. The 1st Cavalry Division brigade worked to continue developing an enduring partnership with Iraqis while simultaneously closing down three of the last U.S. bases in Iraq including COS Echo.
