Department of the Army Best Warrior 2011 competitors sprint off of the starting line at the start of the two-mile run event during the Army Physical Fitness Test portion of the competition, Oct. 3, on Fort Lee, Va. The week-long competition kicked off at 5:00 a.m., with a chilly and wet APFT at Williams Stadium field. The APFT measures soldiers' muscular strength, endurance, and cardiovascular respiratory fitness based on three events; push-ups, sit-ups, and a two-mile run.
