Department of the Army Best Warrior 2011 competitors receive a brief prior to warming up for the Army Physical Fitness Test portion of the contest, Oct. 3, on Fort Lee, Va. The week-long competition kicked off at 5:00 a.m., with a chilly and wet APFT. The APFT measures soldiers' muscular strength, endurance, and cardiovascular respiratory fitness based on three events; push-ups, sit-ups, and a two-mile run.
