Gold Star Familes memorial plaque and tree were planted in the memory of those whom have lost their lives in the line of duty. Each family member present was presented with a Gold Star Lapel Pin. These stars are distributed to members of the immediate family of a fallen servicemember by the Department of Defense. The families were individually pinned by Col. David H. Carstens.
