Jaleel Bryan Thomas-Tamrat (left), son of fallen U.S. Army Soldier Pfc. Bryan Thomas, and Col. David H. Carstens (right) unveil the Gold Star Memorial plaque for those honored April 22, 2014 on Lucias D. Clay Kaserne. The memorial plaque and a tree were planted in the memory of those whom have lost their lives in the line of duty. Each family member present was presented with a registered Gold Star Lapel Pin. These stars are given to members of the immediate family of a fallen service member by the Department of Defense. The families were individually pinned by Col. David Carstens.
