    1st Theater Information Advantage Detachment

Mission 1ST Theater Information Advantage Detachment (TIAD) conducts targeted information advantage activities in the Indo-Pacific to disrupt malign influence and expand U.S. security cooperation in support of U.S. Army Pacific and U.S. Indo-Pacific Commands’ regional objectives.

Purpose The purpose of 1ST TIAD is to enable the U.S. Army Pacific Commander to gain and maintain a strategic advantage through information dominance in the Indo-Pacific region by disrupting malign influence, increasing cooperation with key partners, and promoting regional stability through a shared commitment for a free and open Indo-Pacific.

Topline Messages The Theater Information Advantage Detachment is a building block for Army transformational change. The 1ST TIAD is the first of its kind—a unit designed from the ground up to maneuver within and maintain positions of information advantage. With it, the Army will discover, learn, and codify the best practices, and tactics, techniques, and procedures required to achieve operational and strategic effects in support of the joint force in competition.

•The 1ST TIAD enhances U.S. Army Pacific Command's ability to integrate information forces capabilities into multi-domain operations, ensuring our actions are informed by a deep understanding of the information environment and synchronized with lethal and non-lethal effects.

•The 1ST TIAD strengthens USARPAC’s collective ability to disrupt adversary narratives, build trust, and achieve regional stability through information advantage.
