The Field Service Sub-Office at the Rock Island Ordnance Center, was set up by the Chief of Ordnance on January 15, 1944. There are only four such Sub-Offices in the United States, and these four have had the stupendous job of supplying arms and munitions to our forces on all the battlefields.
