OC-ALC Commander Throws Ceremonial First Pitch at Women's College World Series Finals
U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Lindsay C. Droz, commander of the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex (OC-ALC) at Tinker Air Force Base, threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the decisive national championship game of the Women’s College World Series on Thursday, June 4. The pre-game ceremony took place at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium, setting the stage just before the final battle for the collegiate softball crown.
The game also served as Military Appreciation Night, organized to recognize the service and sacrifices of U.S. military personnel, first responders and their families. Fans packed the stadium wearing red, white and blue to honor military, police, fire and emergency personnel.
Another face of Team Tinker was front and center for the pre-game ceremony, as Tech. Sgt. Nichole Merrill of the 507th Medical Squadron performed the national anthem.
Under Droz’s leadership, the OC-ALC operates as the Department of War's leading aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul facility. As the state's largest single-site employer, the complex stands as an economic and industrial powerhouse with a highly-specialized team of more than 9,000 military and civilian personnel delivering combat-ready airpower to the joint force. Droz's presence on the national stage served as a proud testament to the unmatched strength and enduring partnership between Team Tinker and the greater Oklahoma City metropolitan area.
