The U.S. Army’s Program Executive Office Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) welcomed members of its global operations team to its headquarters in Orlando the week of June 2-6 to synchronize their actions and brief employees at a town hall meeting.

Liaison representatives, or LRs, are deployed at military installations around the world and provide a critical communications link between PEO STRI’s project managers/leads and customers in the field.

PEO STRI’s mission is to rapidly develop, deliver, and sustain training, testing, and information operations capabilities to enhance Soldier readiness across the operational spectrum at Army installations in the United States and worldwide, and LRs support the mission around the globe.

Within the PEO STRI organization, liaison representatives are assigned to the Project Lead Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations (TADSS) Support Operations (PL TSO).

“The LRs’ key value is synchronizing and implementing PEO STRI’s programs and products at the regional & installation level, said Justin Fortune, Deputy Project Lead for TSO and Global Operations manager. “They translate high-level program goals into actionable, locally coordinated efforts, ensuring PEO STRI products and services align with the realities and priorities of the warfighter to enhance readiness and lethality.”

Liaison representatives are uniquely positioned to integrate PEO STRI’s initiatives on the ground at the point of execution.

“LRs are your eyes and ears and get things done,” said Eric Nantz, liaison representative assigned to the Joint Multinational Readiness Center (JMRC) in Hohenfels, Germany. “We provide the crucial first point of contact and ensure all parties—from PEO STRI military, civilians, and contractors to local leaders—are aligned for productive engagement.”

Nantz said that because LRs are embedded, they possess an unparalleled understanding of local operational contexts, existing infrastructure, and emerging requirements. This knowledge allows them to anticipate challenges, identify opportunities for synergy between different PEO STRI products, and ensure that visitors are fully briefed on the nuances of the installation and understand the integration often required between programs and products.

According to Nantz, LRs know the ground truth that affects program execution, directly contributing to the successful delivery of synchronized training, testing, and information operations capabilities.

“It’s imperative we get the critical training equipment and systems that our Soldiers need into their hands quickly,” said Fortune. “The strong relationships LRs cultivate with installation, regional, and host-nation leadership are critical to delivering war-winning capabilities. These connections facilitate seamless access, expedite necessary approvals from the right stakeholders and ensure our capabilities are deployed, synchronized and sustained effectively.”

The liaison representatives’ on-the-ground presence, knowledge, experience and relationships with key customers enables clear communication and proactive coordination that bridges the gap from PEO STRI program execution to on-the-ground integration of the (TADSS) our Soldiers need to win on the modern battlefield.

Headquartered in Orlando, Florida, PEO STRI is comprised of a highly skilled and diverse workforce of more than 1,100 Soldiers, Army civilians and contractors, who work with Army partners to enhance operational readiness and support the Army’s modernization efforts by fielding and sustaining the next generation of multi-domain operations testing, training, and information operations capabilities.
