PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 21 –Ryan Barry was selected as the Naval Foundry and Propeller Center’s Program Management Operations Division Head, Director Nate Bird announced.

Barry comes over from 144th Fighter Wing of the California Air National Guard where he was the Comptroller.

Prior to his work at California Air National Guard, Barry worked for the Virgin Islands National Guard.

A third-generation Air Force officer, Barry is commissioned as a Lieutenant Colonel in the New Jersey Air National Guard. He is currently the Deputy Mission Support Group Commander for the 177th Fighter Wing in the N.J. Air National Guard. He previously served in Afghanistan in 2011 as part of Operation Enduring Freedom and in Africa in 2019 as part of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.

“We are excited to have Ryan join the NFPC team. He has a wealth of experience in programming and planning. That paired with his military background make him a natural for this position,” Bird said. “I look forward to working with him to advance NFPC’s mission.”

Barry holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and a master’s degree in Military Operational Art and Science from Air War College.

“I am very excited to join the NFPC team,” Barry said. “The mission intrigues me and the team is second-to-none.”

Located at 1701 Kitty Hawk Avenue at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, the Naval Foundry and Propeller Center is a modern manufacturing facility that designs and manufactures advanced propulsion components for the U.S. Navy

Barry replaces Eric Charlier, who took a job with another federal agency.

A native of Seattle, Barry lives in Audubon, NJ, with his fiancée Sara and his three children.
