Soldiers from the 1-2 Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, received notice to deploy to the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California. A battalion-sized element known as “Task Force Regulars” conducted an Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercise and sent Soldiers by air through McChord Field Aug. 25, to NTC. Soldiers and their equipment are weighed before being checked in for manifest. While waiting to board the aircraft, Soldiers enjoyed the USO facilities and were given a brief by Col. Leo Wyszynski, the 1-2 SBCT commander.
