    3rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command

FORT JACKSON, S.C. – The 127th Quartermaster Company deployed from Fort Bragg, North Carolina, to Fort Jackson, South Carolina, in the wake of Hurricane Joaquin to purify and distribute water, arriving on Oct. 6. The 127th QM has produced more than 205,000 gallons and has distributed more than 150,000 gallons of potable water since starting 24-hour operations along with their partner unit in Task Force Water, the 226th Composite Supply Company, and Basic Training Soldiers on Fort Jackson.

Through water purification and distribution, TF Water enabled the Basic Combat Training mission at Fort Jackson to continue. TF Water has issued purified water at 26 distribution sites, including seven dining facilities responsible for feeding more than 10,000 Soldiers, three AAFES food franchises, three child development centers, two elementary schools, a hospital, and over 1,100 5 gallon water cans to residents in housing areas.

The 127th QM is part of the 3rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command. The 226th CSC is part of the 3rd Infantry Division, and is from Fort Stewart, Georgia.
