CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The North Carolina National Guard promoted Lenoir native and Blowing Rock, North Carolina resident , Lt. Col. Beau Cook to the rank of colonel on Sept. 12, 2015.
Cook commissioned in the Army as a second lieutenant in 1989 following graduation from Appalachian State University where he earned a degree in Criminal Justice and History. Cook later earned a master’s degree in leadership and management from Liberty University.
"I have been very fortunate to have worked with some outstanding soldiers throughout my career in the Army and would not be here today being promoted to Colonel without their support and leadership.” “I appreciate Major General Lusk and the Chief of Staff, Col. Wilkins for giving me the opportunity to support the soldiers of the North Carolina National Guard” said Cook.
He has been in the Army for 26 years and a member of the North Carolina National Guard since 1998 and is currently assigned as the Director of Logistics for the North Carolina Army National Guard here.
"I want to thank my family for all of the support they have shown me over the past 26 years. It has truly been a great career and could not have made it without their support," said Cook.
Cook is married to his wife Teresa and they have three daughters.
