North Carolina Army National Guard Col. Beau Cook, of the 130th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, cuts a slice of cake for his daughter, Makena Cook, at the reception following his promotion ceremony. Cook, who resides in Blowing Rock, N.C., was promoted to colonel during the ceremony at the Gerald A. Rudisill Readiness Center here, Sept. 12, 2015.
