Indiana National Guard soldiers from the 19th Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and High-yield Explosives, Enhanced Response Force Package, 81st Troop Command, search a simulated collapsed building Aug. 11 during Vibrant Response 13-2 exercises at the Muscatatuck Urban Training Center, Ind. National Guard units from 27 states journeyed to Camp Atterbury, Ind., for the annual training exercise. VR 13-2 is a major incident exercise conducted by U.S. Northern Command and led by U.S. Army North (Fifth Army), which is based out of Fort Sam Houston, Texas. The exercise confirms the operational and tactical capabilities of elements of the Department of Defense’s CBRN response enterprise.
