Two U.S. Army soldiers in MultiCam (OCP) uniforms are performing as musicians, reading sheet music from stands. The foreground soldier, identified by name tape as 'BONTEMPI', is playing a French horn, while the background soldier (partially visible, name tape reading 'LORE...') plays what appears to be a euphonium or tuba. The setting appears to be an indoor venue decorated with flowers, suggesting a formal or ceremonial performance.

U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to the U.S. Army Europe and Africa Band perform during the commemoration honoring the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division at Radboud University Medical Center in Nijmegen, Netherlands, Sept. 18, 2026. The commemoration celebrated the sister city connection between Albany and Nijmegen and recognized the post-war aid Maj. Gen. James M. Gavin provided to the city of Nijmegen. As the United States marks 250 years of independence, Operation Market Garden commemorations offer a living example of the long relationship between Americans and the Dutch. From Dutch trade and support during the American Revolution, symbolized by the First Salute at St. Eustatius in 1776, to American and Allied forces fighting together in the Netherlands in 1944, that history continues today through communities that preserve the memory of those who served and through an enduring U.S.-Dutch partnership.
