Jack Jaubert, son of G. Wilfred Jaubert, 82nd Airborne Division, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, spoke at the Triangle of Tribute unveiling ceremony, Sept. 17, 2026, in Heumen, Netherlands. As the United States marks 250 years of independence, Operation Market Garden commemorations offer a living example of the long relationship between Americans and the Dutch. From Dutch trade and support during the American Revolution, symbolized by the First Salute at St. Eustatius in 1776, to American and Allied forces fighting together in the Netherlands in 1944, that history continues today through communities that preserve the memory of those who served and through an enduring U.S.-Dutch partnership.
