Peruvian, U.S. and Chilean soldiers conduct waterborne operations during Day 1 of Phase III of the Southern Vanguard 2026 field training exercise Sept. 15, 2026, in Sauce, Peru. The training allows participants to apply techniques developed during Phase II jungle swimming and waterborne operations instruction.

SV26 brings together approximately 400 warfighters to execute a field training exercise and command post exercise in a demanding austere jungle environment. The training includes combined operations designed to simulate real-world contingencies in the complex terrain of the Amazon Jungle.
