Chandler Cook, U.S. Army Soldier assigned to the 731st Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, discuss best methods to develop a wide area search team during a Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) National Emergency Response and Recovery Training Center Wide Area Search Course. This is a DHS/FEMA course structured to teach participants to perform systematic searches over a large area that may be affected by a disaster. This hands-on portion of training allowed students to organize a search team, conduct a search, and plan the next steps after identifying a simulated person in need of rescue.
