Southern Vanguard 2026 commences in Sauce, Peru, Sept. 8, 2026. The opening ceremony for SV26 featured leaders and participants from the U.S., Peru, Chile and Argentina. The multinational exercise brings together approximately 400 warfighters to conduct field training and command post exercises in an austere jungle environment. The training includes combined operations designed to simulate real-world contingencies in the complex terrain of the Amazon jungle, increasing preparedness for joint military operations in the Western Hemisphere.
