    DC National Guard

National Guard, attend the 9/11 25th Anniversary Commemoration and Memorial Ceremony in Washington, D.C., Sept. 11, 2026. Hosted by Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Council of the District of Columbia, the ceremony honored the nearly 3,000 lives lost during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, including D.C. Public Schools teachers and students and members of the National Geographic Society. Members of the D.C. Council presented a resolution commemorating the 25th anniversary of the attacks, while District leaders recognized the enduring role of first responders in protecting residents and visitors throughout the nation’s capital.
