Members of the District of Columbia National Guard’s Task Force Beautification remove refuse around Fort Stevens Recreation Center in Washington, D.C., Oct. 11, 2025. The community cleanup was conducted in coordination with the Winchester Luzon Tenants Association and Ward 4 residents. Task Force Beautification has completed more than 100 community projects alongside partners including the D.C. Soldiers and Airmen from of the District of Columbia National Guard partnered with the Capital Area Food Bank, September 10, 2025, to provide food for families across the District, Maryland, and Virginia. In just three hours, the team packed more than 6,030 pounds of food into 347 boxes during a single volunteer event.
For many cadets, joining the Guard isn’t just a career move—it’s a commitment to defend the country and serve in times of crisis. Members of the National Guard are trained to respond to domestic emergencies and, when called upon, deploy alongside active-duty forces in support of national defense objectives.
