A formal military ceremony is taking place outdoors, with a mixed group of uniformed military personnel and civilians standing in a respectful, solemn posture with hands clasped. The attendees appear to be participating in a moment of silence or prayer, suggesting a memorial or commemorative event. The setting includes a green, tree-lined background consistent with a military installation or memorial park.

Garric Banfield (right), command senior enlisted leader, U.S. Africa Command, and others pause for a moment of silence during a commemoration of the 25th Anniversary of 9/11. The ceremony, held at AFRICOM Headquarters, observed the 25th Anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and featured reflections from personnel and leadership on the importance of remembering the event and those who lost their lives to terrorism. Leaders also stressed the continued mission to remain vigilant in the face of ongoing terrorism and fighting alongside allies to defeat those who continue to wish harm to the U.S. homeland and its allies and partners.
