The M200 VTOL drone, operated by Data Shapes, sits in the scorching desert sun as tests are run before it can take-off over Yuma Proving Ground, Ariz., during Falcon Peak 26.2 (FP26.2), Sept. 4, 2026. The long-range system uses its high-speed carrier drone to launch its kinetic interceptor. FP26.2 is North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command's Counter-small Unmanned Aircraft Systems experiment designed to demonstrate new technologies, expand focus on Low Collateral Defeat capabilities, enhance collaboration with mission partners, and provide developers with immediate feedback to accelerate the maturation of innovative capabilities with Department of War-wide applicability.
