A C-17 Globemaster III, assigned to the 15th Wing, transported three Southern California Edison (SCE) utility trucks from March Air Reserve Base, Calif. as part of Operation TREK808, to Hilo International Airport, Hawaii, on Aug. 24, 2026. The utility trucks arrived to support the Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO) power restoration efforts following Hurricane Lala on Hawaiʻi Island where thousands of homes remained without electricity after the hurricane impacted the state Aug. 14-16, 2026. Operation TREK808 was made possible through coordination among Hawaiʻi Gov. Josh Green, the Hawaiʻi National Guard, Department of War, U.S. Pacific Command, Pacific Air Forces, SCE and HECO. The operation demonstrates the collaborative efforts of state, federal and utility partners to restore critical infrastructure following a natural disaster. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Spc.
