    DC National Guard

    Members of the District of Columbia National Guard’s 33rd Weapons of Mass Destruction-Civil Support Team participate in a Hail and Farewell ceremony in conjunction with a Dining-Out in Arlington, Virginia, Sept. 3, 2026. The event recognized the service and accomplishments of incoming and outgoing team members, including U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Daniel Garcia, who retired after serving as the team’s operations noncommissioned officer from July 1, 2019, through Aug. 31, 2026.

    U.S. Air Force Capt. Jennifer Woods, the team’s operations officer, was promoted to major. The ceremony also honored U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Daniel Billingsley, who served with the team from June 14, 2014, through Aug. 31, 2026, before receiving a commission as a second lieutenant; U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Julius Crumlin, who served from May 18, 2018, through Aug. 31, 2025; and U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Jessica Lee, who served with the team through Nov. 14, 2025.

    The D.C. National Guard’s 33rd WMD-CST is a prevention- and deterrence-focused support unit that assists local and civil authorities in preparing for and responding to potential hazards and incidents. Representatives from the U.S. Secret Service, D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department, and FBI attended the event. U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Nicholas Allen served as master of ceremonies, and U.S. Army Lt. Col. Ryan Hobbs, commander of the 33rd MWD-CST, served as president of the event. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Ayan Sheikh)
