The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Chicago District, alongside federal, state, and local partners, completed modernization improvements without disrupting service at Gary/Chicago International Airport to the region. Funded largely through Section 219 of the Water Resources Development Act, the infrastructure upgrades support the airport's expanding cargo footprint and regional logistics capabilities.
