Pamela Griffin, wife of Command Sgt. Maj. Kevin Griffin, cuts the ribbon to the “Griffin Room” Aug. 6 at the 2nd Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment headquarters building. A room was dedicated in memory of Command Sgt. Maj. Griffin, who served in 2nd Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment for six years as the operations sergeant major and the command sergeant major. He was killed in Afghanistan Aug. 8, 2012, while serving with 4th Brigade, 4th Infantry Division from Fort Carson, Colo. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt.
