United States has handed over critical C-130 aircraft maintenance spares and ground support equipment to the Botswana Defense Force, following the recent donation of the Hercules C-130 aircraft to Botswana.
Receiving the donation, Minister of State President, Defense and Security, Moeti Mohwasa says the donation demonstrates how bilateral cooperation continues to translate into practical outcomes in areas of mutual interest.
He notes that this is the second major donation of C-130 maintenance spares received from the United States and will greatly assist the Botswana Defense Force in sustaining the operational availability of its C-130 fleet.
“The C-130 remains an important strategic asset for the BDF, with capabilities extending beyond military airlift to include humanitarian assistance, disaster response, special security operations and other international commitments,” Minister Mohwasa says.
