The Philip A. Connelly Award is the U.S. Army’s oldest logistics readiness award. This competition recognizes excellence in Army food service. Established in 1968, the PAC evaluates field-feeding teams on food preparation, nutrition, sanitation, safety, tactical site operations, administration, convoy operations and equipment readiness. For the 311th Field Hospital, the competition also highlights the unique role of its 68M Nutrition Care Specialists, who bring their medical and nutritional expertise to the field-feeding mission alongside Culinary Specialists. The competition is designed to strengthen food-service proficiency and readiness while ensuring Soldiers can provide safe, quality and nutritionally appropriate meals in field environments.
