A Light Armored Vehicle, or LAV, with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Ground Combat Element, Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, provides security as a Landing Craft Air Cushion, or LCAC, from the USS Iwo Jima’s Assault Craft Unit 4, approaches Onslow Beach, N.C., during a tactical offload of 24th MEU personnel and equipment, N.C., August 12, 2014. The offload was part of Amphibious Squadron/Marine Expeditionary Unit Integration, the second major exercise for the 24th MEU.
