(Aug. 10, 2026) NAMRU EURAFCENT scientists are trained in the use of cutting-edge diagnostic technology, ensuring our teams are ready to tackle emerging health challenges, and enhancing the U.S. Navy’s ability to rapidly identify infectious disease threats to U.S. service members in any environment. NAMRU EURAFCENT, part of Navy Medicine Research & Development, conducts research, surveillance and studies of vaccines, therapeutic agents, diagnostic assays and vector control measures in the EUCOM, AFRICOM and CENTCOM Areas of Responsibility to better prevent and treat infectious diseases in support of Navy, Marine Corps and joint U.S. warfighter health, readiness and lethality.
