Charlie Mixerbailey, 251st Combat Engineer (Sapper) Company, Maine Army National Guard, waits for a range safety to verify his weapon is clear after finishing a table during the Adjutant General’s Marksmanship Competition, commonly known as the TAG Match, Aug. 21-23, 2026, in Bangor, Maine. Nine Soldiers representing five units competed in the two-day event following a practice and familiarization day Aug. 21. The competition provides an opportunity for Soldiers to test, refine and improve their marksmanship skills while learning from fellow competitors and instructors.
