Brandon Dawe, a Ground-Based Operational Surveillance System–Expeditionary (GBOSS-E) operator assigned to the 126th Military Police Company, 111th Military Police Battalion, Joint Task Force–Southern Border (JTF-SB) in support of Operation Ardent Vanguard, monitors the southern border using a GBOSS-E near the Rio Grande river in Roma, Texas, Aug. 27, 2026. The GBOSS-E provides a persistent, elevated observation capability, enabling operators to monitor activity across the operational area and maintain situational awareness along the U.S.-Mexico border. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
