Flare magazine test units developed by the 53rd Test Support Squadron sit at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. Designed to fit inside existing QF-16 Full-Scale Aerial Target flare canisters, the reusable devices allow personnel to ground test the aircraft’s remotely operated countermeasure system before flight, helping identify malfunctions and reduce the risk of in-flight flare misfires or hang fires.
