    Aviation Electronics Technician 3rd Class Matthias N. Whittle, a Sailor assigned to the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5), is frocked to the enlisted rank E-4 on the ship’s mess decks, Aug. 28, 2026. Bataan is currently undergoing regularly scheduled maintenance in the General Dynamics National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO) shipyard in Norfolk, Virginia.
