A National Guard Airmen assigned to the 125th Fighter Wing, ascends the side of a training structure using a rope system during technical rescue training at Volk Field Combat Readiness Training Center, Wisconsin, Aug. 26, 2026. Patriot 26, an Air National Guard-hosted exercise taking place at Volk Field Combat Readiness Training Center, brings together approximately 1,000 Airmen and Soldiers from National Guard units across 35 states, along with federal, state and local agencies, to enhance domestic response readiness and interagency coordination during large-scale emergencies. The training gives Airmen hands-on experience with rope rescue techniques used to safely access and recover people from elevated or difficult-to-reach locations.
