    The 39th Commandant of the Marine Corps, Gen. Eric M. Smith, and U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Byron Solano, the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Defense Chief of Marine Corps Embassy Security Group Headquarters (MCESG HQ) meritoriously promote Lance Cpl. Nathan Rodriguez, a CBRN defense specialist, to the rank of Corporal at MCESG HQ, Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, Aug. 25, 2026. Gen. Smith toured MCESG HQ to view and receive briefs on their training and operations, as well as to speak with the Marines, recognizing individuals for superior performance and answering their questions.
