On Aug. 25 at 2040, members from the active duty Air Force, the Hawaii National Guard, along with Hawaiian Electric (HECO), and Southern California Edison unloaded a second C-17 loaded with vehicles and supplies to assist Hawaii County with restoring power to those affected by Hurricane Lala. The Pacific Air Forces, along with the Guard, coordinated the efforts dubbed "Operation TREK808", by Hawaii Governor Josh Green. The two C-17s were used to transport trucks and work crews to bolster HECO efforts and help with longer term fixes. The Guardsmen are a part of Task Force Hawaii who also had missions including wide-area search, wellness checks, debris removal and more.
