The Kaua`i watershed protection program include partnering with local schools to educate and conduct the removal of invasive species and planting native species in its place. The U.S. Navy’s Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) has secured $4.37mil in Fiscal Year 2026 funding through the Department of Defense's Readiness and Environmental Protection Integration (REPI) Program to expand ecosystem restoration, wildfire resilience, invasive wildlife predator programs and to improve watershed protection efforts that support military readiness and benefit surrounding West Kaua`i landscapes. PMRF is the world's largest instrumented multi-domain range, capable of supporting surface and sub-surface, air and space operations simultaneously.
