LONG BEACH, Calif. (April 10, 2023) Sailors assigned to Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron (MSRON) 11 and Navy Cargo Handling Battalion (NCHB) 14 conduct a lift on-lift off (LO-LO) operation aboard SS Cape Inscription (T-AKR-5076) in Port of Long Beach, Calif., as part of Adaptive Force Exercise (AFOX) in Port of Long Beach. AFOX is an advanced phase, continuous training event focused on Navy Expeditionary Combat Force (NECF) integration and interoperability, and advanced skills for deployment. NCHB delivers expeditionary logistics capabilities to combatant commanders in support of the national military strategy, critical for peacekeeping, crisis response, humanitarian, and combat service support missions. MESF is a core Navy capability that provides port and harbor security, high value asset security, and maritime security in the coastal and inland waterways.
