The Change of Command party stands at attention during ceremony.
On June 16, 2026, service members from Public Health Command East gathered on the Fort Meade Parade Field for their Change of Command. Col. Justin Schlanser passed command to Col. Sarah Cooper. Brig. Gen. James Burk, Commanding General of the U.S. Army Medical Readiness Command, East, Director of the Defense Health Network East, and the 27th Chief of the U.S. Army Nurse Corps presided over the ceremony.
