U.S. Army Reserve Spc. Patrick Kreutzer, assigned to the 350th Engineer Company, 315th Engineer Battalion, Joint Task Force-Southern Border in support of Operation Ardent Vanguard, monitors readings on the panel of a generator powering the Ground-Based Operational Surveillance System-Expeditionary near Eagle Pass, Texas, Aug. 20, 2026. The generator supplies electrical power to the GBOSS-E, enabling the system to maintain continuous ground surveillance capabilities in the operational area. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
