Cesarò residents, NAS Sigonella leadership, local military, civil and religious authorities follow a musical band procession to Pizzipiturro, Cesaro, Aug. 19, 2026 . Pizzipiturro, a rocky spur at Nebrodi Park, Cesarò, hosts a bronze statue of Christ the Lord of the Mountain. NAS Sigonella provided helicopter support for transfer and placement of the statue, Aug. 19, 1996. This year marked the 30th anniversary commemoration. Attending culturally significant events hosted by our partner forces allows us to engage directly and build mutual trust between NASSIG leadership and Italian officials. NAS Sigonella's strategic location enables U.S. allied, and partner nation forces to deploy and respond as required to ensure security and stability in Europe, Africa and Central Asia.
