Religious affairs specialists assigned to 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) receive instructions on maneuvering with a handgun before a practical exercise during an asset protective operations program in Maxton, North Carolina, Aug. 4, 2026. The five-day training course prepared 3rd Group’s religious affairs specialists to protect unit ministry teams in hostile environments by bolstering baseline tactical proficiencies. The Soldiers built readiness in tactical medical care, defensive driving and force protection techniques, ensuring they can rapidly respond to emerging threats, enabling unit chaplains to focus on providing religious counsel to their formations.
