    IKEGO HILLS FAMILY HOUSING AREA, Japan (Aug. 17, 2026) – Capt. Jon Hopkins, Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY), and installation mascot Yoko-Pon welcome students as they enter Ikego Elementary School on the first day of school, Aug. 17, 2026. Installation leadership visited local DoWEA schools to offer encouragement to returning students and military families. CFAY provides, maintains, and operates base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, 71 tenant commands, and more than 27,000 military and civilian personnel and their families.
