    IKEGO HILLS FAMILY HOUSING AREA, Japan (Aug. 17, 2026) – The principal of Ikego Elementary School, Josh Adams, addresses students, faculty, and families during an opening ceremony on the first day of school, Aug. 17, 2026. The ceremony marked the beginning of the 2026-2027 academic year for military-connected youth stationed at Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY). CFAY provides, maintains, and operates base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, 71 tenant commands, and more than 27,000 military and civilian personnel and their families.
